I see d'abord at the start. Could I put it somewhere else in the sentence?
Yes! While d'abord (first / first of all) often sits at the beginning of a sentence to introduce the first step in a sequence, you can also place it right after the verb. So, Choisissez d'abord vos outils is also perfectly natural French.
Why is there no subject pronoun like vous before choisissez?
Because this is a command or instruction. Just like in English ("Choose your tools" instead of "You choose your tools"), you drop the subject pronoun in French when giving a direct order. This is called the imperative form.
Why does this sentence use vos for "your" instead of votre?
In French, the possessive word has to match the noun that comes right after it. Because outils (tools) is plural, you must use the plural form vos. If the sentence were about choosing a single tool, it would be votre outil.
