Why do we use ole here instead of olet?
In negative perfect sentences, the helper verb stays as ole for all persons. Only the negative word changes to match the pronoun (en, et, ei, etc.). So for 'you have not', we say et ole, never et olet.
How is this different from the negative past tense, 'You didn't read'?
The negative perfect tense uses the extra helper verb ole. 'You didn't read' (simple past) is simply et lukenut, while 'You have not read' (perfect) adds ole to make et ole lukenut. Notice that the main verb form (lukenut) is exactly the same in both!
Why is the object liitettä in the partitive case?
In Finnish, the object of a negative sentence must always be in the partitive case. Because this is a negative sentence (et ole...), the basic word liite (attachment) takes the partitive ending.
