Questions & Answers about هر کس هم که تماس بگیرد، لازم است که خونسردی خود را حفظ کنید.
How does har kas ham ke create the meaning 'no matter who'?
The phrase har kas means 'whoever' or 'anyone'. Adding ham ke transforms it into an indefinite concessive clause, meaning 'no matter who'. This structure always takes a subjunctive verb, which is why we see tamâs begirad here, as the identity of the caller is hypothetical.
Why are there two verbs in the subjunctive mood in this sentence?
Each clause has its own trigger. The first verb begirad is in the subjunctive because of the indefinite concessive phrase har kas ham ke. The second verb hefz konid is in the subjunctive because it follows lâzem ast ke (it is necessary that), an impersonal expression that requires the subjunctive for the action being demanded.
Could I use the personal suffix -etân instead of khod for 'your composure'?
Yes, you could say khunsardi-etân râ, but using the reflexive pronoun khod is extremely common and natural in Farsi when the possessor is also the subject of the verb (you are maintaining your own composure). It connects smoothly with the ezâfe as khunsardi-ye khod.
What is the literal translation of the compound verb hefz kardan used at the end?
hefz comes from an Arabic root meaning 'preservation' or 'protection'. So hefz kardan literally means 'to do preservation'. When paired with khunsardi (literally 'cold-bloodedness', meaning calmness), the whole phrase translates nicely to maintaining composure.
