اسفند is the twelfth and final month of the Iranian solar calendar. It roughly corresponds to the period from late February to late March. Because it is the very last month of winter, it makes perfect sense that spring (بهار) comes right after it!

Why is "after" translated as بعد از rather than just بعد?

The word بعد on its own usually acts as an adverb meaning "afterwards" or "later". When you want to use it as a preposition followed by a specific noun, like saying "after Esfand", you must add از, which usually means "from". So, "after [something]" is always بعد از.

What is the infinitive of the verb می‌آید (comes)?

The infinitive is آمدن (to come). To form the present tense, we use the present stem, which is آی. Then we add the continuous prefix می‌ at the beginning and the third-person singular ending ـد at the end, giving us می‌آید.

Why do we use the present continuous prefix می‌ for a general fact like "spring comes"?

In Farsi, the prefix می‌ isn't just for actions happening right now. It is also used to state general facts, habits, and universal truths, which is similar to how we use the simple present tense in English. Since spring coming after winter is a universal fact, we use می‌آید.
