What exactly is اسفند (Esfand)?
اسفند is the twelfth and final month of the Iranian solar calendar. It roughly corresponds to the period from late February to late March. Because it is the very last month of winter, it makes perfect sense that spring (بهار) comes right after it!
Why is "after" translated as بعد از rather than just بعد?
The word بعد on its own usually acts as an adverb meaning "afterwards" or "later". When you want to use it as a preposition followed by a specific noun, like saying "after Esfand", you must add از, which usually means "from". So, "after [something]" is always بعد از.
What is the infinitive of the verb میآید (comes)?
The infinitive is آمدن (to come). To form the present tense, we use the present stem, which is آی. Then we add the continuous prefix می at the beginning and the third-person singular ending ـد at the end, giving us میآید.
