The lesson says the future passive uses a past participle, but I do not see one here. Why is it pish-bini khâhad shod?
With compound verbs that use kardan (to do), like pish-bini kardan (to predict), the passive is formed simply by swapping kardan for shodan (to become). So instead of needing a past participle like kardeh, you just take the noun part (pish-bini) and add the future tense of shodan (khâhad shod).
How exactly are the words linked together to mean "the increase in pollution of this neighborhood"?
They are connected by an Ezafe chain, which provides the hidden "e" or "ye" sounds linking the nouns. When spoken, it sounds like afzâyesh-e âludegi-ye in mahalleh. Because âludegi ends in a vowel sound, it takes the -ye connection rather than just the standard -e.
Why is the singular khâhad shod used here instead of the plural khâhand shod?
The grammatical subject of the sentence is the single word afzâyesh (increase). The rest of the phrase (âludegi-ye in mahalleh) just describes what is increasing. Since the core subject is singular, the verb must also be the singular khâhad shod.
Can you break down the word pish-bini?
