Why is the second verb کند instead of میکند?
After verbs expressing trying, wanting, or being able to, the second verb must be in the subjunctive mood. To form this, we drop the indicative می prefix and use the present stem کن plus the he/she/it ending -د.
The lesson says the subjunctive uses a be- prefix. Why isn't the verb پیدا بکند?
While the subjunctive normally adds the ب (be-) prefix, it is extremely common in Farsi to drop this prefix in compound verbs that use کردن (to do). Both are grammatically correct, but پیدا کند is the most natural way to say it.
Why do we need the word را after سگ?
را is the specific direct object marker. It shows that the boy is looking for a specific dog (the dog), not just any random dog. It always comes immediately after the noun it is marking.
