The Quantifier هر
To say "every" or "each" in Farsi, use هر followed by a singular noun.
This makes it incredibly useful for talking about daily schedules, recurring events, and time routines.
| Every morning I wake up at seven o'clock. | من هر صبح ساعت هفت بیدار میشوم.man har sobh sâ'at haft bidâr mishavam. |
| He eats breakfast every day. | او هر روز صبحانه میخورد.u har ruz sobhâne mikhorad. |
| I read a new book every month. | من هر ماه یک کتاب جدید میخوانم.man har mâh yek ketâb jadid mikhânam. |
| We eat lunch together every weekend. | ما هر آخر هفته با هم ناهار میخوریم.mâ har âkhare hafte bâ ham nâhâr mikhorim. |
Beyond Schedules
هر works with any noun, not just time expressions. The noun always remains singular.
| Every habit needs time. | هر عادت به وقت نیاز دارد.har âdat be vaght niâz dârad. |
To say "every time" (meaning every instance or occurrence), combine هر with the word بار.
| time/instance | بارbâr |
| I brush my teeth every time. | من هر بار مسواک میزنم.man har bâr mesvâk mizanam. |
| Every time I see you, I become happy. | هر بار که تو را میبینم، خوشحال میشوم.har bâr ke to râ mibinam, khoshhâl mishavam. |
