Sentences and Exercises
These are the words of the classroom itself — the vocabulary you use to talk about learning Persian in Persian, joining the long-taught سؤال (question) and جواب (answer). A جمله is a sentence — the unit every lesson here is built from. A تمرین is an exercise or practice.

| Today's exercise is hard. | تمرینِ امروز سخت است.tamrin-e emrooz sakht ast. |
| This exercise is not easy. | این تمرین آسان نیست.in tamrin âsân nist. |
Right and Wrong
When an answer is wrong, it is غلط — the classroom opposite of درست (correct). Persian speakers also use غلط for misspellings and mistakes in writing generally.
| This answer is incorrect. | این جواب غلط است.in javâb ghalat ast. |
| Was my sentence wrong? | جملهی من غلط بود؟jomle-ye man ghalat bud? |
Homework
تکلیف is the homework — literally an "assignment, duty". In school Iran you will also hear the older word مشق, but تکلیف is the standard term.
| Tonight I have homework. | امشب تکلیف دارم.emshab taklif dâram. |
| My homework is finished. | تکلیفِ من تمام است.taklif-e man tamâm ast. |
