Contracts and official documents use formal vocabulary, such as **مستاجر** (tenant), **موجر** (landlord), and **موظف** (obliged).

To refer to a previously mentioned noun, formal Farsi uses the adjective **مذکور** (the aforementioned / the said). Like any standard adjective, it links to the preceding noun using the *ezafe* vowel.

When referring back specifically to a person, legal texts use **نام‌برده** (the said person). While **مذکور** modifies a noun, **نام‌برده** stands alone as a pronoun, replacing the person's name or title.
