Indicating that (mabnâ bar in ke)

Indicating That

To link a noun like "evidence" (شواهد) or "report" to a clause explaining exactly what it shows, Farsi uses the phrase حاکی از اینکه (indicating that). It literally translates to "indicative of this that" and introduces a descriptive clause.

Based on the Fact That

A very similar and interchangeable phrase is مبنی بر اینکه (indicating that / based on the fact that). It functions exactly like the previous phrase to introduce a reporting clause.

You will frequently hear this on the news when discussing an approaching mass (توده) of air or weather threats to coastal (ساحلی) areas.

Meteorology and Fronts

When discussing meteorology (هواشناسی) and weather fronts (جبهه), you don't always need complex reporting clauses. Sometimes, the radar or weather models simply "show that" (نشان می‌دهند که) a new system is forming.

Destructive Weather Events

When forecasting extreme storms, experts track the occurrence (وقوع) of devastating phenomena like a tornado (گردباد). To describe something as destructive or devastating, use the adjective ویرانگر.
