Formal reason clauses (be dalil-e inke)

When reporting service issues to utility companies, you often need to explain the cause of a problem clearly and professionally using complex reason conjunctions.

Stating Causes with به دلیل اینکه

The phrase به دلیل اینکه (due to the fact that / because) is a formal conjunction used to introduce a reason.

Reason clauses state facts, so the verb following به دلیل اینکه remains in the indicative mood (the standard present or past tense).

You can place the reason clause after the main statement, or at the very beginning of the sentence to emphasize the cause.

The Conjunction به خاطر اینکه

Another extremely common conjunction for stating causes is به خاطر اینکه. It carries the exact same meaning and functions the same way, also taking an indicative verb.

because / due to the fact that
به خاطر اینکهbe khâtere in-ke

These conjunctions work seamlessly with past tenses to explain why a situation occurred.

Making Formal Complaints

When writing a formal protest about a disruption (اختلال) or a faulty utility meter (کنتور), you will rely on these conjunctions to justify your complaint or demand action.
