Descriptive adjectives (-âmiz, -âvar)

In Farsi, you can create highly expressive, dramatic adjectives by attaching specific suffixes to base nouns. When reacting to shocking events—like a UFO sighting or an encounter with extraterrestrials—the suffixes ـ‌آور and ـ‌آمیز are perfect for describing the intensity of the experience.

Causing an Effect: ـ‌آور

The suffix ـ‌آور comes from the verb meaning "to bring." When attached to a noun, it creates an adjective describing something that "brings" or "causes" that condition.

For example, combining it with nouns for astonishment, eeriness, or terror creates adjectives like حیرت‌آور (astonishing), وهم‌آور (eerie), and رعب‌آور (terrifying).

Mixed With or Full Of: ـ‌آمیز

The suffix ـ‌آمیز comes from the verb meaning "to mix." Attaching it to a noun forms an adjective that means "mixed with" or "full of" that quality.

This is frequently used to describe behaviors, tones, or messages. By adding it to nouns like threat or mockery, you get adjectives like تهدیدآمیز (threatening) and تمسخرآمیز (mocking).

Dramatic Combinations

Because these suffixes turn abstract nouns into powerful descriptions, they are often paired together to capture overwhelming or supernatural experiences. You can use them with concepts like madness (جنون), magic (سحر), or shame (شرم) to build even more evocative adjectives like جنون‌آمیز (insane/frantic), سحرآمیز (magical), and شرم‌آور (shameful).
