Questions & Answers about Küçükçe süsler ve ısıtıcı hakkında konuştuk.
How does the suffix on küçükçe change its meaning?
The -çe suffix is used to soften an adjective, similar to adding "-ish" or "rather" in English. So küçük (small) becomes küçükçe (rather small). The suffix starts with ç instead of c because küçük ends in a hard, voiceless consonant.
Where does the word ısıtıcı come from?
It is formed from the verb ısıtmak (to heat). The suffix -ıcı is attached to verbs to make a noun for the tool or person performing the action, just like "-er" in English. Therefore, ısıtıcı means "heater".
Does hakkında apply to both the ornaments and the heater?
Yes. When you link words with ve (and) right before a postposition like hakkında, the postposition applies to the entire joined group. It translates as "about the rather small ornaments and the heater."
Why don't the nouns before hakkında have any case endings?
When you use hakkında (about) with regular nouns, they stay in their plain dictionary form. You only need to add genitive case endings if you are using personal pronouns, like benim hakkımda (about me) or senin hakkında (about you).
