Where is the word for "it" in the Turkish sentence?
Turkish often leaves out object words like "it" when the meaning is obvious from the context. Instead of saying "Don't do it like this", Turkish just says "Like this don't do" (Böyle yapma).
What exactly does böyle mean?
Böyle means "like this" or "in this way". It is related to the word bu (this). You put it right before the verb to describe how an action is done.
How does the word yapma mean "don't do"?
The basic verb is yapmak (to do). To give a direct command to one person, you drop the -mak to get the root word, yap (do!). To make a command negative, you add the negative suffix -ma, which gives you yapma (don't do!).
