Learn Turkish: Yolcu çanta getiriyor mu? - Is the passenger bringing a bag?

In the present continuous tense, the verb always ends in the suffix -iyor. Because of Turkish vowel harmony, the question word that follows -iyor must always be mu to match the round "o" sound.

Why is it just çanta and not çantayı?

We use the plain word çanta because it is an indefinite object ("a bag"). If we were talking about a specific bag ("the bag"), we would use the accusative case and say çantayı.

How is the verb getiriyor built?

The dictionary form is getirmek (to bring). We take the root getir- and add the present continuous suffix. Since the root ends in a consonant and its last vowel is "i", the matching suffix is -iyor.

What happens if I move mu to another part of the sentence?

The question particle mu focuses the question on the word right before it. Placing it at the end makes the whole sentence a standard yes/no question. If you said Yolcu mu çanta getiriyor?, you would be specifically asking, "Is it the passenger (and not the driver) who is bringing a bag?"
