When setting up a new workspace, you will need various office supplies to keep things organized.

Future Participles for Purpose: -(y)acak / -(y)ecek

To talk about items intended for a specific purpose or tasks that need to be done—like "documents to file" or "boxes to label"—Turkish uses the future participle as a noun modifier.

To form this, add the future suffix -(y)acak or -(y)ecek (using a buffer y if the verb stem ends in a vowel) to the bare verb stem. Then, place this modified verb immediately before the noun it describes.

Verb Stem + -(y)acak / -(y)ecek + Noun

For example, taking the verb dosyalamak (to file) gives the stem dosyala-. Adding the suffix produces dosyalayacak (to file / to be filed).

There are many documents to file today.
Bugün dosyalayacak çok belge var.
Put the files to classify on the desk.
Sınıflandıracak dosyaları masaya koy.

Since the participle acts as an adjective describing the noun's purpose, the noun itself can still take any case markers required by the rest of the sentence.

Let's leave the papers to sort out in that box.
Ayrıştıracak kâğıtları şu kutuya bırakalım.
After cleaning the drawers, I prepared the boxes to label.
Çekmeceleri temizledikten sonra etiketleyecek kutuları hazırladım.

You can use this form with any task or supply to describe exactly what an item is meant for.

Isn't there a cartridge to use in the drawer?
Çekmecede kullanacak kartuş yok mu?
Take the thumbtacks to fasten to the board from the drawer.
Panoya tutturacak raptiyeleri çekmeceden al.
