It's much better to use ลึกซึ้ง. The word ลึก (luek) is generally used for physical depth, like a deep swimming pool or a deep hole. ลึกซึ้ง, on the other hand, is used for abstract, emotional, or intellectual depth. Since a relationship is abstract, ลึกซึ้ง is the right choice.
