Unless (นอกจากว่า)

Expressing "Unless" with นอกจากว่า

To state a strict exception—saying an event will or won't happen unless a specific condition is met—use the conjunction นอกจากว่า.

นอกจากว่า is placed immediately after the main clause. The word จะ (will) is often included in the condition to mark it as a hypothetical future action.

Setting Boundaries and Ultimatums

Because นอกจากว่า establishes a firm condition, it is highly useful for setting professional boundaries, outlining legal consequences, or giving ultimatums.

It is also used to explain the only circumstances under which a party might be forced to intervene or change their stance.
