Since clauses (ตั้งแต่)

Setting the Scene

When recounting a company's history, you often start by describing a specific past milestone, such as founding an organization. You can point back to that exact moment using time words like ตอนที่ (when).

Expressing "Since" with ตั้งแต่

To explain that a condition started at a specific past event and continues to the present, use ตั้งแต่ (since).

Place ตั้งแต่ at the beginning of the clause that represents the point of origin:

ตั้งแต่ + [Past Event Clause], [Ongoing Result Clause]

In the second clause, you will sometimes see the linking word ก็ placed before the verb to emphasize that the ongoing result is a direct consequence of the past event.

Business Expansion

As an entrepreneur expands their business, they might launch new franchises or open branch offices. You can use ตั้งแต่ clauses to link these operational milestones to their positive outcomes.

Highlighting Growth

Finally, ตั้งแต่ is highly effective for framing the tangible results of your hard work, such as highlighting how much a business has grown or how profits have increased since taking a specific strategic action.
