Questioning Utility with จะ... ไปทำไม
To question the logic, utility, or necessity of an action, we use the rhetorical frame จะ... ไปทำไม. By placing จะ before an action and ไปทำไม after it, the structure translates to "Why would you..." or "What is the point of...". It is the perfect frame for pointing out the futility of fussing over details or worrying about the distant future.

The Trap of Obsessing
When someone is entirely absorbed in an unproductive thought pattern, you can use มัวแต่ before the verb to show they are "only doing" or "engrossed in" that behavior. We frequently pair this with consequence words like ก็เลย or ถึงได้ (therefore / that is why) to explain how obsessing leads to distress.

Accepting Reality
The antidote to this distress is to accept reality and let things go, expressed with the verb ปลง. If you can accept reality, you stop suffering.

On the flip side, overreacting doesn't help at all. You can use the phrase ไปก็ป่วยการ right after an action to declare that doing it is entirely "useless."

Stop Brooding and Wallowing
Sometimes you will see the end of the rhetorical frame written together as a single word (ไปทำไม). You can use this to question why someone would jump to conclusions, brood, or wallow in the past when it serves no purpose whatsoever.
