Asking "Have you... yet?"

To ask if an action has been completed or a state achieved, place the question word หรือยัง at the end of the sentence. It translates directly to "already or not yet?".

Answering "Already" or "Not Yet"

To answer a หรือยัง question, you will typically either confirm the action is complete or state that it hasn't happened yet.

To say "already", repeat the verb and place แล้ว at the end of your response, just as you learned for completed actions.

To say "not yet", place ยัง (still / yet) and ไม่ (not) directly before the verb.

Being Ready and Finishing Tasks

You will frequently hear this structure used with state verbs like พร้อม (to be ready) to ask about someone's current status.

When confirming a specific task is done, you can add เสร็จ (finished) after the action verb. This also works perfectly with a negative response to say a task is not yet finished.

Making Plans and Preparations

Perfective questions are especially useful when coordinating plans, such as asking if someone has packed their bags or booked their tickets.
