When someone achieves greatness or carries on a proud legacy, you naturally want to praise them. In Thai, you can express that someone is "worthy of" their title or reputation using a specific preposition.
Living Up to a Noun
Use สมกับ to say that a person, object, or action is "living up to" or "worthy of" something. It functions as a preposition and must be followed directly by a noun, such as a reputation (กิตติศัพท์) or an alias (ฉายา).
