Emphasizing statements (เลย)

To add strong emphasis to your statements, opinions, or reviews, use the emphasizing particle เลย. Placed at the very end of a sentence, it intensifies the meaning to express complete approval, total dissatisfaction, or absolute negation.

Emphasizing degrees

When describing degrees, you can pair เลย with words like มาก (very) at the end of the sentence. This acts like the English "really," "completely," or "absolutely" to give a strong opinion on things like quality or taste.

Emphasizing negative statements

When you add เลย to the end of a negative statement containing ไม่ (not) or ไม่ เคย (never), it translates to "not at all" or "never at all."

Giving strong feedback

You can use these emphasizing patterns to leave firm reviews. Use them alongside verbs like บ่น (to complain), ปรับปรุง (to improve), or สนับสนุน (to support) to make your experiences and expectations completely clear.
