Expressing "Also" or "Too" with ก็
To express agreement or say that someone "also" does or feels something, use the particle ก็.
| also / too | ก็ |
Unlike in English, ก็ is placed right after the subject and directly before the main verb.
| I am also sleepy. | ฉัน ก็ ง่วง ค่ะ |
| My friend is also glad. | เพื่อน ก็ ดีใจ ครับ |
Asking Questions
Word order stays exactly the same for questions. Keep ก็ before the verb and add the question word at the end.
| Are you also angry? | คุณ ก็ โกรธ ไหม คะ |
Linking Ideas with "And" and "But"
Combine ก็ with conjunctions like "and" (และ) or "but" (แต่) to mean "and also" or "but also". Place ก็ directly after the conjunction.
| The movie is long but also fun. | หนัง ยาว แต่ ก็ สนุก ครับ |
| The doctor is tired and also sleepy. | หมอ เหนื่อย และ ก็ ง่วง ครับ |
Sharing Feelings and States
In Thai, emotion words like bored (เบื่อ), lonely (เหงา), and shocked (ตกใจ) function as verbs. You don't need a linking word for "to be"—just put ก็ directly in front of the emotion.
| The students are also bored. | นักเรียน ก็ เบื่อ ครับ |
| I am also very lonely. | ฉัน ก็ เหงา มาก ค่ะ |
