Prepositions rarely translate word-for-word between languages. While in English you say congratulations "on" something, Swedish uses the phrase grattis till (literally "congratulations to") when celebrating an achievement, milestone, or getting something new.

Why does the sentence say det nya jobbet instead of just det nya jobb?

This happens because of a Swedish grammar rule often called the "double definite". When you use an adjective with a specific, definite noun, Swedish requires you to mark the "the" twice: once with the standalone article (det) and again with the ending on the noun itself (-et in jobbet).
