Questions & Answers about Du måste kämpa tills vi når toppen.
Why is it tills here and not till?
In Swedish, till is a preposition used before nouns (like till imorgon meaning "until tomorrow"). Tills is a subordinating conjunction used to introduce a whole new clause with its own subject and verb. Because it introduces vi når (we reach), you must use tills.
Since tills starts a subordinate clause, does it change the word order?
It can, but you usually only notice it if there is a sentence adverb like inte (not). In a subordinate clause, inte is placed before the verb. Because this sentence doesn't have an extra adverb, the subject-verb order (vi når) looks exactly the same as a normal main clause.
Why does kämpa end in -a while når ends in -r?
Kämpa (fight) is in the infinitive form because it comes directly after the modal verb måste (must). You don't use att (to) after modal verbs. Når (reach), on the other hand, is the active verb for the subject vi in the second clause, so it is conjugated in the present tense.
