Questions & Answers about Jag tycker om designen, men inte materialet.
Why is it tycker om instead of just tycker?
In Swedish, tycker by itself means to think in the sense of having an opinion. To say like, you must add the particle om to make the phrasal verb tycker om. You could also replace tycker om with the single verb gillar.
Why do the words for the design and the material end differently (designen vs materialet)?
How would I apply this lesson's grammar to say I like such a design, but not such a material?
You would match the demonstrative pronoun to the gender of each noun. Because design is an en-word, you use sådan (Jag tycker om en sådan design). Because material is an ett-word, you use sådant (...men inte ett sådant material).
Why does inte come before materialet in the second half of the sentence?
