Why is it snön (the snow) instead of just snö (snow)?
In English, we usually leave out "the" when talking about weather in a general sense, like "Snow often comes." But in Swedish, it is very common to use the definite form snön (the snow) when talking about the weather or seasons in general.
Why does the sentence say kommer ofta (comes often) instead of ofta kommer (often comes)?
In a normal Swedish main sentence, the verb must be the second piece of information (this is called the V2 rule). Because snön is in the first position, the verb kommer must come right after it. The adverb ofta then follows the verb.
Why are november and december written with lowercase letters?
In Swedish, months, days of the week, and languages are never capitalized unless they are the very first word of a sentence.
