The Months of the Year

Swedish month names are very similar to English. Like days of the week, they are not capitalized unless they start a sentence.

Saying "In" a Month

To say something happens "in" a specific month, use the preposition i (for example, i maj).

The weather is warm in March and April.
Vädret är varmt i mars och april.
We travel to Sweden in July and August.
Vi reser till Sverige i juli och augusti.
Do you have a vacation in February or March?
Har du semester i februari eller mars?

Asking "Which Month"

Use the phrase vilken månad (which month) to ask when an event or plan is happening.

Which month are you off?
Vilken månad är du ledig?
Which month do you go to the lake?
Vilken månad åker du till sjön?
