"Even When" with Aun + Gerund

To say "even when doing [something]" or "despite doing [something]," use aun ("even") followed immediately by a gerund (an -ando or -iendo verb).

This structure introduces an ongoing background action that doesn't prevent the main event.

Even looking at the GPS, I still don't understand this street.
Aun mirando el navegador, sigo sin entender esta calle.

Notice that aun is written without an accent mark here.

Even knowing the city, this intersection is extremely dangerous.
Aun conociendo la ciudad, esta intersección es peligrosísima.
Even seeing the arrow, I still don't know where to go.
Aun viendo la flecha, sigo sin saber adónde ir.

Use this pattern to describe ongoing frustrations, like getting lost or stuck in traffic despite your best efforts.
