Questions & Answers about Мы будем рисовать новыми кисточками.
Where is the word for "with" in this sentence?
In Russian, you do not need a preposition to say you do something by means of a tool. You just put the tool in the Instrumental case. So, новыми кисточками inherently means "with new brushes". Be careful not to use с (with) here, as с is used when you are accompanied by someone or something (like drawing with a friend).
How do we form the adjective ending in новыми?
новыми is in the Instrumental plural. For most plural adjectives, you drop the dictionary ending (like -ый in новый) and add -ыми. If the stem ended in a soft consonant or a special spelling-rule letter (like г, к, х, ж, ч, ш, щ), you would use -ими instead.
What is the dictionary form of кисточками, and how do we form its Instrumental plural?
The base word is кисточка (brush), a feminine noun ending in -а. To form the Instrumental plural for most nouns (masculine, feminine, or neuter), you add -ами to the stem. So, dropping the -а from кисточка and adding -ами gives us кисточками.
Why does the sentence use two words (будем рисовать) for the future tense?
