Questions & Answers about Где вы будете путешествовать?
Why are there two verbs used to say "will travel"?
To talk about an ongoing action in the future, Russian uses a compound future tense. You take a helper verb, which is the future tense of быть (to be), and add the dictionary form (infinitive) of your main action verb. So here we have будете (will be) plus путешествовать (to travel).
Why is the helper verb exactly будете here?
The helper verb must match the subject of the sentence. Because the subject is вы (you, formal or plural), we use the matching form будете. If the sentence was about "I" (я), it would change to буду.
Does the long word путешествовать change its ending if the subject changes?
No. In this type of future tense, the main action verb always stays in its basic infinitive form. Only the helper word (будете) does the work of showing who is doing the action.
Could I use Куда instead of Где in this sentence?
It changes the meaning slightly! Где asks about the location where the traveling takes place (like "in which region will you be traveling around?"). If you use Куда (where to), you are asking about their destination ("where are you traveling to?"). Both are correct, but they ask slightly different things.
