Common Insects and Flying Bugs

Bites and Stings

Some insects can be a bit more bothersome or even painful. You will certainly want to know the words for the mosquito (țânțarul) and the wasp (viespea). To describe being bitten or stung by one of these insects, use the verb a înțepa.

On the Ground and in the Air

Not all bugs are pests. In the park or garden, you might spot a hardworking ant (furnica), a colorful butterfly (fluturele), or a worm (viermele) in the grass. Of course, you might also find a stray beetle or bug (gândacul) hiding indoors.
