### Water: still or sparkling?

In a Romanian restaurant the waiter will ask which water you want: **apă plată** (still) or **apă minerală** (sparkling — Romania is famous for its mineral springs).

### Fried, sweet, hot

Food adjectives come after the noun and agree with it: *pui prăjit*, *cafea dulce*. **Dulce** and **fierbinte** have only two forms — the same for a man and a woman, and *dulci* / *fierbinți* in the plural. **Cartofii prăjiți** are French fries.

**A avea poftă de** means *to feel like (eating)*: *am poftă de ciocolată*. You know *poftă bună* (enjoy your meal) — it is the same word. In summer people eat on the **terasă**, and cakes come from the **cofetărie** (pastry shop).
