In European Portuguese, you usually put a definite article like o (the) before possessive words. Literally, the sentence says "The your teacher". Since professor is a masculine singular word, we use o and vosso.
How do I know whether to use "teu", "seu", or "vosso" for "your"?
You use vosso when you are talking to more than one person (plural "you", like "y'all's"). If you were asking just one person, you would use o teu professor (informal) or o seu professor (formal).
If "vosso" means plural "your", why doesn't it have an "s" at the end?
The possessive word has to match the thing being owned, not the owners! Even though there are multiple students (the owners), there is only one teacher. Because professor is singular and masculine, we use vosso. If there were multiple teachers, it would be os vossos professores.
