Questions & Answers about Eu estudo antes da aula.
If I wanted to ask the question that gets this answer, how would I use quando (when)?
Why is it antes da and not just antes a?
In Portuguese, the word for "before" is antes. When you say "before [something]", you must add the preposition de (of). So, you are literally saying "before of the class". Because aula (class) is a feminine word, de combines with the word for "the" (a) to become da.
Does aula mean the physical classroom or the actual lesson?
Aula refers to the class as an event or a lesson. If you want to talk about the physical room where you study, you would use sala de aula (literally, room of class).
