Why is it Esta and not Este?
Esta is the feminine word for "this". We use it here because informação is a feminine noun. As a helpful tip for your vocabulary: almost all Portuguese words ending in -ção are feminine!
Why do we use é (from the verb ser) instead of está (from estar)? Isn't being urgent a temporary state?
It might feel temporary to us, but in Portuguese, urgency is treated as an essential characteristic of that specific message. Because it describes what the information inherently is, we use the permanent "to be" verb, ser (é).
Does the adjective urgente change if the noun is masculine?
No, it doesn't change! Adjectives that end in -e (like urgente, grande, or inteligente) are the same for both masculine and feminine nouns. You only need to add an -s if the noun is plural (urgentes).
In English, "information" doesn't usually become plural. Does informação work the same way?
Unlike in English, informação is countable in Portuguese. While it is singular in this sentence, you can absolutely say informações when referring to multiple pieces of information or details.
