Beneath the Earth
Exploring an underground cave system is an otherworldly experience. To describe the unique environment of descending into the depths, you will need the preposition sob.

In Portuguese, sob means "under" or "beneath". It is an extremely common, slightly elevated preposition used for both physical locations and abstract states.
Spatial Placement
The most straightforward way to use sob is to describe physical, spatial location—when something is literally underneath something else.

Just like the English word "under", sob is not limited to physical space. It is the standard preposition used to describe abstract conditions or states of being. You will use it for phrases like being "under pressure", "under tension", "under investigation", or "under the illusion".
