### Plot Predictions with *Provavelmente* and *Possivelmente*

When watching a popular soap opera (*a novela*), half the fun is guessing what happens next in the plot (*a trama*). To share your theories, you can use the adverbs **provavelmente** (probably) and **possivelmente** (possibly).

Even though you are expressing a guess, these specific adverbs are always followed by verbs in the **indicative mood** (the normal everyday tenses).

Another common way to make a prediction is using **talvez** (maybe / perhaps). However, unlike the adverbs ending in *-mente*, *talvez* introduces a strong sense of doubt and always requires the **subjunctive mood**.
