To express proportional relationships—like "the more..., the better..."—Polish uses the paired structure im ..., tym ....
You place im at the start of the condition (the cause) and tym at the start of the result (the effect). Just like in English, each part is followed by a comparative adjective or adverb.

Connecting Full Clauses
When linking full actions, the structure connects two clauses. You simply use a comparative adverb (like szybciej - faster, or wolniej - slower) right after im and tym, followed by the rest of the sentence.

Time and Frequency
You can track trends over time or frequency using adverbs like dłużej (longer), częściej (more often), and rzadziej (less often). The pattern stays exactly the same, whether you are using full verbs or just highlighting the consequence.

You aren't limited to just adverbs. You can use comparative adjectives (like większy - greater) or quantifiers (like więcej - more, mniej - less) directly with nouns to talk about effort, results, and practice.
