Questa means "this" and is a pointing word (a demonstrative adjective). Because it points out the noun macchina (car), it has to match its gender and number. Since macchina is a feminine singular noun, we use the feminine singular form Questa.

Why does rossa come after macchina, but Questa comes before it?

In Italian, pointing words like questa (this) always go before the noun, just like in English. However, descriptive words—like colors (rossa)—usually go after the noun they describe. So the sentence literally flows as "This car red is beautiful."

Notice how Questa, macchina, rossa, and bella all end in "a". Is that a coincidence?
