Why does the sentence use нет, and how is it different from не есть or не имеется?
Нет is the most common everyday way to say there is/are no… in Russian. It functions like an existential negative (absence).
- В приложении нет… = There is no … in the app.
- Не есть is basically not used for “there is/are not” in modern Russian.
- Не имеется / отсутствует sound more formal/official (reports, instructions): В приложении не имеется информации… / Информация отсутствует…
Why is информация in the form информации (genitive) after нет?
Because нет typically requires the genitive case for what is missing/absent.
