Russian uses a different structure for “to like”.
- Мне нравится… literally = “To me, it is pleasing…”
- мне = “to me” (dative case of я)
- the thing that is liked is the grammatical subject
So in Мне не нравится спешить утром:
- мне is the person who experiences the feeling (in dative)
- спешить (“to hurry”) is the thing that is (not) pleasing
- нравится agrees with that thing.
If you said Я нравлюсь, it would mean “I am liked (by someone)”, e.g. Я нравлюсь ему = “He likes me”, literally “I am pleasing to him.”
