Usages of όμως

• Στο πάρκο βρέχει συχνά, όμως σήμερα δεν βρέχει.: It often rains in the park, however today it is not raining.
• Το ψυγείο είναι παλιό, όμως το μπουκάλι είναι καινούριο.: The fridge is old, however the bottle is new.
• Η γειτόνισσα είναι ήσυχη, όμως ο γείτονας δεν είναι ήσυχος.: The (female) neighbor is quiet, however the (male) neighbor is not quiet.
• Θα το κάνω αργότερα, όμως τώρα δουλεύω.: I’ll do it later, however now I’m working.
• Δεν πιστεύω ότι θα αργήσει, όμως δεν είμαι σίγουρη.: I don’t believe she will be late, however I am not sure.
• Αν δεν πάρεις πρόσκληση, μπορείς όμως να έρθεις μαζί μου.: If you don't receive an invitation, you can still come with me.
• Σήμερα όμως δεν μπορώ να δεχτώ άλλη πρόσκληση, είμαι κουρασμένος.: Today however I can’t accept another invitation, I am tired (male).
• Παλιά τα πιάτα πλένονταν στο χέρι, τώρα όμως πλένονται στο πλυντήριο πιάτων.: In the past the dishes were washed by hand, but now they are washed in the dishwasher.
• Έχω όμως όρεξη για μια μικρή βόλτα, γιατί έτσι φτιάχνει η διάθεσή μου.: But I feel like a short walk, because that way my mood improves.
• Όταν όμως η δασκάλα εξηγεί αργά, δεν είμαι πια τόσο μπερδεμένος.: But when the teacher explains slowly, I am not so confused anymore.
• Εγώ μένω κλεισμένος στο σπίτι και διαβάζω ελληνικά, ενώ η φίλη μου πηγαίνει στην αγορά· ξαφνικά όμως αρχίζει να βρέχει και όλα σταματούν, ενώ κανονικά θα κάναμε μεγάλη βόλτα.: I stay shut in at home and study Greek, while my friend goes to the market; suddenly however it starts to rain and everything stops, whereas normally we would take a long walk.
• Το στεγνωτήριο στεγνώνει γρήγορα τις πετσέτες, όμως τα πουκάμισα τα στεγνώνω καλύτερα έξω.: The dryer quickly dries the towels, but I dry the shirts better outside.
• Η ανιψιά μου όμως είναι πολύ γενναία όταν πηγαίνει μόνη της στη σκηνή στο σχολείο.: My niece however is very brave when she goes alone onto the stage at school.
• Σήμερα όμως έχω να γράψω μήνυμα σε εκείνον τον παλιό συμμαθητή και δεν θέλω να το αναβάλω άλλο.: Today, however, I have to write a message to that old male classmate and I don’t want to postpone it any longer.
