If I am at home in the evening, I lock the door with the key.

هل معك مفتاح الباب، أم نسيته في البيت؟hal maaka miftâhu-l-bâbi, am nasîtahu fi-l-bayti?

Do you have the door key with you, or did you forget it at home?

في غرفتي صورة قرب الباب، وقربها كرسي صغير.fī ghurfatī ṣūratun qurba l-bâbi, wa qurbahâ kursiyyun ṣaghîrun.

In my room there is a picture near the door, and near it there is a small chair.

أريد أن أضع هذه الصورة قرب الحاسوب، لا قرب الباب.urîdu an ada'a hâdhihi s-sûrata qurba l-hâsûbi, lâ qurba l-bâbi.

I want to put this picture near the computer, not near the door.

هل تستطيع أن تغلق الباب؟ المفتاح على الكرسي قرب الحقيبة.hal tastatî'u an tughliqa al-bâba? al-miftâhu 'alâ al-kursiyyi qurba al-haqîbati.

Can you close the door? The key is on the chair near the bag.

حذائي الجديد تحت الطاولة، وحذاء أمي أمام الباب.hidhâ'î al-jadîdu tahta at-tâwilati, wa hidhâ'u ummî amâma al-bâbi

My new shoe is under the table, and my mother's shoe is in front of the door.

حقيبتي خلف الباب، وحقيبة صديقتي أمام الطاولة.haqîbatî khalfa al-bâbi, wa haqîbatu sadîqatî amâma at-tâwilati.

My bag is behind the door, and my friend's bag is in front of the table.

عندما أعود إلى البيت، أضع المفتاح فوق الطاولة قرب الباب.'indamâ a'ûdu ilâ al-bayti, ada'u al-miftâha fawqa al-tâwilati qurba al-bâbi.

When I return home, I put the key on the table near the door.

عندما يرن جرس الباب، تذهب أمي إلى الباب وتفتح للضيفة.'indamâ yarinnu jarasu-l-bâbi, tadh-habu ummî ilâ-l-bâbi wa taftahu lid-dayfati.

When the doorbell rings, my mother goes to the door and opens it for the guest.

لا تفتحي الباب الآن؛ جرس الشقة لا يرن عادة مرة واحدة فقط.lā taftaḥī al-bāba al-āna; jarasu ash-shiqqati lā yarinnu ādatan marratan wāḥidatan faqaṭ.

Do not open the door now; the apartment bell does not usually ring only once.

إذا كان هناك ضجيج في الشارع، لا أسمع جرس الباب جيدا.idhâ kâna hunâka dajîjun fî ash-shâri'i, lâ asma'u jarasa al-bâbi jayyidan.

If there is noise in the street, I do not hear the doorbell well.

مكتب الاستقبال قرب الباب.maktabu al-istiqbâli qurba al-bâb.

The reception desk is near the door.

هناك أحد عند الباب.hunâka aḥadun inda l-bâb

Someone is at the door.

السترة خلف الباب.as-sutratu khalfa l-bâb.

هناك عطل في الباب.hunâka 'utlun fî al-bâbi
