Questions & Answers about Der Onlineshop hat den Status noch nicht aktualisiert.
Why is the past participle "aktualisiert" instead of "geaktualisiert"?
Verbs that end in -ieren (like aktualisieren, studieren, reservieren) do not get a ge- prefix in the past participle. You simply take the verb stem and add a -t at the end.
Why does it say "den Status" instead of "der Status"?
Status is a masculine noun (der Status). In this sentence, it is the direct object receiving the action of being updated, so it takes the accusative case and changes to den Status.
How does "noch nicht" work here?
The phrase noch nicht translates directly to "still not" but is best understood in English as "not yet". In German, it typically sits as close to the end of the sentence as possible, right in front of the past participle (aktualisiert).
How would the word order change if I made this sentence a subordinate clause starting with "sobald" (as soon as)?
Because sobald is a subordinating conjunction, it pushes the conjugated verb to the very end of the clause. If you attached this to a main sentence, it would become: ... sobald der Onlineshop den Status noch nicht aktualisiert hat. Notice how the helper verb hat moves to the very end.
