Why is there an "e" before the "-ons" in voyageons?
Why do we use en before été to say "in summer"?
You use the preposition en for seasons that start with a vowel sound. You say en été (in summer), en automne (in autumn), and en hiver (in winter). The only exception is spring, which starts with a consonant and takes a different preposition: au printemps.
Why isn't it "en l'été" since we usually need an article before nouns in French?
When using the preposition en to talk about a season, a month, or a year, you always drop the definite article (like le or l'). So it is always just en été, never en l'été.
