Why does fatigués have an s at the end?
In French, adjectives (describing words) have to match the noun or pronoun they describe. Because nous (we) is plural, we add an s to the adjective fatigué to make it plural too.
What if the "we" in this sentence is a group of women?
If the group is entirely female, you need to make the adjective both feminine and plural. You do this by adding an e and an s, making it Nous sommes fatiguées. It sounds exactly the same when spoken!
I know nous means "we", but why use sommes?
Sommes is the present tense form of the verb être (to be) that goes specifically with nous. Just like we say "we are" instead of "we am" in English, French pairs nous with sommes.
Why is it Bonne nuit and not Bon nuit?
The word for night, nuit, is feminine in French. Because of this, the adjective meaning "good" must also be feminine, which is bonne instead of the masculine form bon.
