Why does regardent end in -ent if it is not pronounced?
The -ent ending is how you change a regular -er verb to match the "they" form (ils or elles). However, for these verbs, the -ent ending is always completely silent. You pronounce ils regardent exactly like the singular form il regarde.
Why does the translation say "are watching" when there is no word for "are" in the French sentence?
